Add your station

ypshout does not keep a list of its own. It reads Radio Browser, the open directory that most modern radio apps are built on, so a station added here turns up in all of them — not just on this page. That is how the old Yellow Pages worked too: stations reported themselves in.

Two things happen before anything is sent. The stream is checked from our server the way a browser hears it — addresses answering with a status page rather than audio are turned away — and then a person reads it. Nothing reaches the directory unreviewed, which is what keeps it clean for everyone who depends on it.

One address may add three stations a day. If your stream is a bare SHOUTcast address and the check turns it away, try it with a trailing semicolon — http://host:8000/; — which is what makes those servers hand a browser audio instead of their status page.
